What is a PVC Footstep?

A PVC Footstep is a safety rungs system used for climbing into manholes, water tanks, and sewage pits. While called "PVC," high-quality versions (like those used in heavy engineering) usually consist of a Steel Reinforcement Bar encapsulated in a thick coating of Virgin Polypropylene (PP) plastic.

Why is it used?

Corrosion Resistance: Traditional iron rungs rust and snap in damp manhole environments. PVC/PP coating prevents this.
Safety: The plastic coating is usually bright orange or yellow for high visibility and features a non-slip grip.
Durability: They are designed to withstand the highly corrosive gases (like Hydrogen Sulfide) found in sewers.

Classification & Application

Classification: Based on shape (U-shape, Square shape, or Cross-section) and core material (10mm, 12mm, or 16mm steel bar).
