A Mivan Shuttering Wall Tie with Cone (referred to on-site as a mivan wall tie patti with cone) is a high-tensile steel tie system that spans the internal width of a concrete wall to lock parallel aluminum formwork panels securely together.
The assembly consists of a flat, sacrificial steel tie plate fitted with specialized Aluminium Formwork PVC Cones (also called mivan formwork plastic bullet cones) at both ends.
When wet concrete is poured into vertical aluminum formwork, it exerts immense lateral hydrostatic pressure. Without a reliable tie system, the panels will bulge, deflect, or burst outward, ruining the structural alignment.
The Mivan cone wall tie serves two critical, non-negotiable structural purposes:
Tensile Resistance: It absorbs the heavy splitting tensile stresses generated during rapid concrete pouring, keeping the wall thickness perfectly uniform.
Slurry-Tight Sealing: The attached plastic cones act as tight gaskets against the inner face of the aluminum panels. This prevents slurry leakage, eliminating concrete honeycombing at the panel joints.

For thick shear walls or heavy civil structures, a high-tensile Mivan Tie Rod is passed through a 25mm PVC Tie Rod Pipe. Heavy-duty 18mm or 20mm PVC Cones seal both ends of the sleeve. After the concrete cures, the tie rod is fully extracted and reused, leaving only the plastic sleeve cast inside the wall.
