About Armour joints For Flooring

Diamond/Speed Dowels Plate and Sleeves are designed to transfer loads across construction joints in slab-on-ground applications.

The ABS sleeve encases one half of the plate dowel to de-bond the dowel from the concrete. Plate Dowels allow for expansion, contraction and lateral movement at the joint.

The Diamond/Speed Dowel Sleeve minimises the vertical movement across the joint.

There are two types of coating done on armour joint i.e. GI Coated & Paint Coated.

Better performing pavements and slabs: eliminates out of joint cracking

Simple installation: easy sleeve installation, form removal the next day, and dowel insertion
Reduces labour: eliminates need for drilling or processing forms
Improves customer satisfaction: less repairs and maintenance

Available in 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm thickness, Galvanized & Stainless Steel.

Width of Armour joint totally depends on Pavement Slab. If Width of a slab is 150mm then Width of Armour joint will be 130mm, if Width of a slab is 200mm then Width of Armour joint will be 170mm, if Width of a slab is 240mm then Width of Armour joint will be 210mm and so on.

FAQ's of Armour joints For Flooring:

Q: How are Armour joints for flooring installed in construction projects?

A: Armour joints are typically installed by fixing them into position using dowel bars or anchors, ensuring a secure and stable fit within the concrete floor. This method provides both flexibility for joint movement and effective crack control.

Q: What are the primary benefits of using hot rolled steel Armour joints in flooring?

A: Hot rolled steel Armour joints offer high load-bearing capacity, enhanced corrosion and fire resistance, and excellent durability against frequent forklift and vehicular traffic, making them ideal for demanding environments.

Q: When should Armour joints be incorporated into a flooring system?

A: Armour joints should be integrated during the concrete flooring installation phase, especially in areas expected to undergo heavy mechanical loads or frequent thermal expansion and contraction.

Q: Where can these Armour joints be effectively used?

A: They are suitable for a variety of construction applications, including warehouses, factories, logistic centers, and any building project requiring robust, long-lasting flooring with efficient joint movement and crack control.

Q: What is the process for selecting the right size and type of Armour joint for a project?

A: Selection depends on the specific requirements of the project, such as load demands, floor dimensions, and movement accommodation. The joints come in different thicknesses (3-10 mm), lengths (3 m/6 m), and widths (75-150 mm) to suit diverse construction needs.

Q: How do Armour joints contribute to thermal expansion and contraction management in flooring?

A: These joints are designed to accommodate floor movement caused by thermal expansion and contraction, helping to prevent surface cracks and maintain long-term structural integrity.

Q: What surface finish and packaging options are available for Armour joints?

A: Available in galvanized or painted finishes for superior corrosion resistance, Armour joints can be packaged in bundles or supplied loose, providing flexibility based on project scale and requirements.
